Factory-built fission microreactors for power on Earth, in space, undersea · Posted today

About Us

At Antares, our long-term mission is to make clean energy abundant from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. We’re fueled by the belief that advanced nuclear energy can strengthen our military, solve the climate crisis, elevate global living standards, and expand humanity's presence in outer space. To achieve our mission, we’re building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors that can be used terrestrially, underwater, and in space.

Formed in 2023, the Antares team hails from SpaceX, The White House, MIT, Rigetti Computing, The Air Force, General Atomics, Relativity Space, Ursa Major, and National Laboratories like Los Alamos, Idaho, and Oak Ridge. Antares has raised over $130M in venture capital from top-tier investors and has over $13M in government funding.

About the Team

As an early member of Antares' quality systems function, you will help build the operating backbone that connects supplier execution, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, engineering, and finance. This role owns the practical systems and workflows that keep physical work moving: manufacturing execution, purchasing, supplier status, material readiness, inspections, exceptions, approvals, and the data structures that make those workflows reliable.

This is not a traditional dashboard or reporting analyst role. The ideal candidate is a systems-minded operator who can administer enterprise tools, map real business processes, build automations and AI-enabled workflows, as well as sit with users to make the system match how work actually gets done. You will partner with supply chain, manufacturing, quality, engineering, finance, software, and external suppliers to create workflows that track commitments, surface blockers, trigger escalations, and help the team execute faster without losing configuration control or compliance readiness.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Translate supply chain, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and finance requirements into reliable system workflows, data models, forms, approvals, exception logic, permissions, and operating procedures.

• Design and implement agentic and AI-enabled workflows that help track supplier commitments, purchase order status, material readiness, action items, nonconformances, expediting needs, open risks, and required follow-ups.

• Implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify gaps in quality processes and help prioritize system architecture improvements.

• Build practical automations using SQL, Python, APIs, low-code tools, Robotic Process Automation, webhooks, or workflow engines to reduce manual status chasing and improve execution visibility across internal teams and suppliers.

• Develop human-in-the-loop AI workflows that can summarize communications, extract commitments, propose next actions, draft follow-ups, flag missing data, and escalate exceptions throughout enterprise systems while preserving user accountability and review.

• Own day-to-day administration, configuration, and improvement of supply chain and manufacturing enterprise systems, including MES, purchasing/procurement systems, ERP/MRP modules, supplier portals, inventory/material systems, and related operational tools.

• Create integrations between enterprise systems and collaboration tools such as email, Slack/Teams, ticketing systems, document repositories, supplier portals, spreadsheets, and internal applications.

• Maintain master data and system hygiene for suppliers, parts, BOMs, routings, purchase orders, work orders, inspection status, ownership, lead times, milestones, and operational metadata.

• Support implementation and rollout of new tools or modules, including requirements gathering, vendor coordination, configuration, testing, migration, user acceptance testing, training, and post-launch support.

• Partner with supply chain and manufacturing teams to build workflows for PO release, supplier onboarding, supplier execution reviews, material readiness, receiving, inspection, nonconformance handling, change/containment impact analyses, and production handoffs.

• Create repeatable process documentation, system runbooks, automation specs, change logs, training materials, access-control guidance, and audit evidence that support regulated and government-facing operations.

• Monitor workflow performance and system adoption, proactively identifying bottlenecks, data-quality issues, broken integrations, and opportunities to simplify or automate operational work.

• Own practical data quality and exception-management routines so AI workflows act on trusted information, produce auditable outputs, and route edge cases to the right accountable owners.

• Incorporate and grow unit and integration testing for the enterprise software suite and internal tools developed as part of the role.

• Partner with database architects and system administrators to design and develop extract, transform, and load pipelines from various source systems into optimized formats for AI-enabled processing.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics or related fields

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain systems, manufacturing systems, procurement operations, business systems, operations technology, industrial engineering, or a similar role supporting enterprise workflows.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Hands-on experience administering or implementing at least one enterprise operations system such as MES, ERP/MRP, procurement/purchasing, supplier management, inventory/materials, QMS, PLM, or workflow automation platforms.

• Software development experience in a high-level coding language (e.g. Python, Java, C#).

• Strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes such as purchase orders, supplier commitments, expediting, material readiness, inventory, work orders, receiving, inspections, nonconformances, and production support.

• Ability to translate ambiguous operational needs into clear process maps, system requirements, workflow logic, test plans, documentation, and user training.

• Working knowledge of SQL and data structures, plus experience using Python, APIs, low-code automation, RPA, scripting, or similar tools to connect systems and automate operational tasks.

• Interest in and practical understanding of AI-enabled workflows, including prompt design, structured outputs, human-in-the-loop review, permissions, data quality, and safe escalation logic.

• Experience with software version control systems (e.g. Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment software that incorporates automated testing and release.

• Strong documentation habits, attention to data quality, and ability to maintain disciplined systems in a fast-moving, regulated, hardware-focused environment.

• Ability to work onsite in Torrance, CA and support urgent supply chain, supplier, manufacturing, audit, or production milestones as needed.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to support critical supplier, manufacturing, production, system implementation, or audit milestones.

• Ability to travel occasionally to suppliers, implementation partners, customer/government sites, or company facilities as business needs require.

Location

We are located in Torrance, CA in a 322,000 square foot, brand new facility featuring large open spaces for team collaboration, R&D, and production, as well as easy access to the 405, 105, and 110 freeways. Our facility is in the heart of Los Angeles' vibrant emerging tech ecosystem alongside many other high-growth startups and enterprises.

Culture

At Antares, we like to specifically tie each role to our founding document’s set of values–here are the top five cultural values we think you should believe at your core to be successful:

  • Think in Systems - Energy and Defense are complex ecosystems with numerous stakeholders with competing priorities, conflicting policies, perverse incentives, and emergent and path-dependent properties. First principles thinking alone is insufficient. Think probabilistically and then take action. “If you want to be certain, then you are apt to be obsolete.” Over-optimizing the components often degrades the system

  • Obsess over the End User - The customer and end user are often not the same. We will never build globally competitive commercial products if we lose sight of our end users and their entire interaction with the product life cycle

  • Be Unconstrained by Convention - Our only limits are the laws of physics. Many, even experts, will say what we are working on is impossible. They said the same about SpaceX reusing rockets. Generationally impactful companies, by definition, must accomplish the seemingly impossible. If it were easy, it would have already been done. Never shy away from a solution because it has never been tried before, and never choose to do something because that's “how it's always been done”

  • Go Where the Work Is - Never miss a chance to meet a customer, user, or stakeholder face to face, even if that means hopping on a plane. If you can’t make it, find a teammate who can channel your intentions and go in your place. Deep work can be done from anywhere, but we believe teams are built in person, and aim to maximize our time together

  • Operate in the Grey - Embrace nuance in pursuit of truth. Question every fundamental assumption
